> Explanation: "Relinquishes one": this means that when one falls back from the path of the non-learner, one relinquishes one comprehensive knowledge, the exhaustion of all fetters; also, when falling back from the exhaustion of attachment to form, one relinquishes the comprehensive knowledge of the exhaustion of attachment to form; and when falling back after entirely separating from desire, one relinquishes the one comprehensive knowledge of the five \[fetters\] conducive to the lower realms. "Relinquishes two": this means that when non-returners, from the exhaustion of attachment to form, give rise to the entanglements of desire and fall back, they relinquish two comprehensive knowledges: the exhaustion of attachment to form and what is conducive to the lower realms; also, when obtaining arhatship, they also relinquish the previous two comprehensive knowledges. "Relinquishes five": this means that when one who previously separated from desire enters the path of seeing, upon reaching subsequent knowledge of the path and realizing the fruit of non-returner, one acquires the one \[comprehensive knowledge of\] what is conducive to the lower realms and relinquishes the previous five comprehensive knowledges of the path of seeing. "Relinquishes six": this means that when a noble one who has not separated from desire attains freedom from desire, one acquires the one comprehensive knowledge of the five \[fetters\] conducive to the lower realms and relinquishes the previous six comprehensive knowledges that are the fruits of receptivity.
