- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [22.17](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1823.22.17)

慧析餘亦爾者，謂若有物以慧析餘，彼覺則無，亦是世俗，如水被慧分析色、香、味、觸時，水覺則無，如析火亦爾，火覺則無，故此水、火名世俗諦。

> "And likewise when other \[factors\] are separated by wisdom" means that if there is an entity whose awareness disappears when other \[properties\] are separated by wisdom, it is also conventional. For example, when water is analyzed by wisdom into visible matter, odor, taste, and tangibility, the awareness of water no longer exists; likewise when fire is analyzed, the awareness of fire no longer exists. Therefore such water and fire are called conventional truth.
