> The commentary explains: the first line answers the first question, and the following three lines answer the second question. When one contemplates all dharmas as non-self with conventional knowledge, it does not take its own category as an intentional object; hence 'except for its own category'. By 'its own category' is meant the intrinsic nature of the conventional knowledge itself, as well as what is associated with it and co-existent with it. It does not take its own intrinsic nature as an intentional object because the object and the possessor of the object are distinct. It does not take what is associated with it as an intentional object because they share a single intentional object. It does not take what is co-existent with it as an intentional object because they are extremely close. This contemplation of non-self has conventional knowledge as its nature, and is wisdom produced solely through hearing and reflection.
