> Explanation: The first five lines explain the categories of supernormal powers; the next line distinguishes them by the three natures; the final two lines discuss their distribution across the destinies. The varieties of the supernormal power of the domain of psychic transformation are altogether five: first, acquired by cultivation; second, acquired by birth; third, acquired by incantation; fourth, acquired by medicine; fifth, acquired by karma. The varieties of the supernormal power of knowing others' minds are four: first, acquired by cultivation; second, acquired by birth; third, acquired by incantation; fourth, accomplished by divination. The remaining three supernormal powers—the divine eye, the divine ear, and knowledge of past lives—have only three kinds: namely cultivation, birth, and karma. Among these five supernormal powers, if the three such as the domain of psychic transformation are acquired by cultivation, they are exclusively wholesome in nature; the divine eye and divine ear are indeterminate in nature. Apart from those acquired by cultivation, the others, such as those acquired by birth, range over all three natures.
