> Ce states: Regarding "the numerous wholesome dharmas appropriate for a bodhisattva manifesting in their active manifestations, etc.," there are two explanations. The first states: Bodhisattvas prior to the ten abidings are said to abide in the abiding of gotra, which is formulated in terms of prior to generating the aspiration \[for awakening\]. Among the wholesome roots conducive to merit, those that should be actively manifested also have the sense of being able to be actively manifested in reliance upon that; if one has already generated the aspiration, they do not actively manifest. The second states: Bodhisattvas of the ten abidings are also called \[having\] gotra. The wholesome dharmas that are appropriate are the tainted six pāramitās.
