> From "attaining the ten masteries" downward, the seventh \[section\] explains attaining mastery. According to the Daśabhūmika Sūtra, it first explains three masteries—namely, sovereign practice in the vessel world, sovereign practice in the sentient-being world, and sovereign practice in wisdom and right awakening—and next contemplates and explains the ten masteries. Here, it only speaks of the ten masteries. "Because of attaining mastery, dwelling wherever one desires, able to dwell as one wishes": this explains the mastery over life. From "dwelling in absorption according to one's pleasure" up to "able to dwell as one wishes": this explains the mastery over mind. "If momentarily contemplating" up to "all are able to be manifested": mastery over material goods. "Universally toward all karma able to induce birth": this explains the mastery over karma. "And sovereignly taking rebirth in all future places of birth": this explains the mastery over birth. From "according to whatever one likes and delights in" up to "all can be initiated and performed": mastery of wish-fulfillment (ṛddhi). From "all wonderful vows" up to "all are fulfilled": this explains the mastery over vows. From "according to things and entities" up to "all become without disparity": mastery over adhimokṣa (resolve). "Whatever the desired knowledge and the objective sphere of what is known, all is known as it truly is": this explains the mastery over wisdom. "Universally toward all collections of names, phrases, and syllables, attaining skill in all": this explains the mastery over Dharma.
