### [12.67](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1828.12.67)

> Another interpretation: these three clauses are the three turnings of the wheel of the Dharma. 'Based on awakening others' is the turning of showing characteristics, meaning showing the truths to others by saying, 'This is suffering,' and so forth up to 'This is the path.' 'Based on internal personal gnosis' is the turning of realization, meaning 'This suffering I have already known,' and so forth up to 'This path I have already cultivated.' 'Based on both loci' is the turning of exhortation, meaning teaching them: 'This suffering I have already known, you should know,' and so forth up to 'This path I have already cultivated, you should cultivate.' Because of these three turnings, it is said to be 'spoken of in this way'; these constitute the three modes of activity.
