- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [15.519](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1828.15.519)

> Third: Folly concerning both karma and vipāka is able to produce dwelling in non-places. "Rudra" is translated here as "Violent and Evil". "Viṣṇu" was formerly called the deity Piniu; here it is translated as "Binding Delusion" \[Yuehuo\]. Being able to restrain and transform into elephants, horses, and the like to bewilder the world, this deity is an emanation body of Maheśvara. Alternatively, it is said that Viṣṇu is an emanation body of the Ṛṣi Vasu. As for the "Lord of the World" deity \[Lokapati\], this is Great Brahmā; sentient beings are foolish regarding their own karma and fruition, thinking they are born from that deity, and so they take refuge in and revere that deity.
