> Regarding 'there is no experience of pleasure': there is neither pleasure of maturation nor pleasure of uniform outflow. 'The three kinds of hungry ghosts are also like this': next, above it says each is due to external hindrances regarding food and drink, etc.; the Viniścaya states there is no pleasure here, speaking only of the three ghosts; the Viniścaya then says a portion of animals is also called pure suffering; although animals are indeed so, having no distinct marks to denote, they are omitted and not stated. Vasubandhu's Mahāyānasaṃgraha states that they have the pleasure of uniform outflow; the fifth fascicle of the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi harmonizes this, saying: one should know that it speaks according to the provisional principle, following the Sarvāstivādins and others, or it speaks generally of other mixed experiences, where the absence of maturation pleasure is called pure suffering. Among the seven treasures, the wheel and the jewel are non-sentient, while the other five are sentient; the two treasures of the wheel and the jewel belong to the Lord of the Gods.
