The Abhidharma\[samuccaya\] states that purposeful karma is contrary to this, since it applies to both accumulated and non-accumulated. Here, based on distinct, powerful deliberation that will definitely bring about maturation, it is called ‘purposeful karma’; whereas there, based merely on being performed with purposeful deliberation and not being spontaneous karma, it applies even to that which will not obtain fruition, all being called ‘purposeful’.
