> Regarding "revealing the four destinies and three existences": maintaining morality attains the good destinies of humans and devas in the desire realm; the training in concentration attains the deva destinies of the upper two realms; the training in wisdom attains the destiny of nirvāṇa. These four destinies are combined into three places: perfecting the prātimokṣa morality attains rebirth in the realm of desire; the training in mind attains rebirth in the upper two realms; the training in wisdom attains realization of the place of nirvāṇa. This statement reveals what is attained by the two paths, mundane and supramundane: the first three destinies and two places are attained by the mundane path; the latter one destiny and one place are attained by the supramundane path.
