> The Abhidharmasamuccaya says: Sūtra, geya, vyākaraṇa, gāthā, and udāna—these five are subsumed under the Sūtra Piṭaka within the Śrāvaka Basket. Nidāna, avadāna, itivṛttaka, and jātaka—these four are subsumed under the Vinaya Piṭaka and its attendants within both baskets; nidāna is primary, and the other three are attendants. Vaipulya and adbhutadharma—these two are subsumed under the Sūtra Piṭaka within the Bodhisattva Basket. Upadeśa, as a single category, is subsumed under the Abhidharma within both the Śrāvaka and Bodhisattva Baskets.
