「法住智」者，薩婆多緣三界，體有漏，達因果智。今是無漏，後得智攝，達彼因中有果法功能住，或由彼因，果法得住，名法住智。此是如量智，下出世間智是如理智。

> Regarding "knowledge of the stability of phenomena": For the Sarvāstivādins, it takes the three realms as its object, its essence is defiled, and it is the knowledge that understands cause and effect. Here, it is undefiled and subsumed under subsequent knowledge, comprehending that within the cause there abides the capacity for the resultant phenomena, or that by means of that cause the resultant phenomena are able to abide—hence it is called the "knowledge of the stability of phenomena." This is knowledge of diversity (yāvadbhāvikatā-jñāna); the supramundane knowledge below is knowledge of reality as it is (yathāvadbhāvikatā-jñāna).
