- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [15.169](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1829.15.169)

> The treatise states, 'Sensation conditions craving, craving conditions grasping, grasping conditions becoming, becoming conditions birth, and birth conditions old age and death; this is the sequence of the suffering of enjoyment': craving, grasping, and becoming are the causes of suffering; birth and the like are the fruits of suffering; what is capable of giving birth receives the name of fruit. It is also like the previous tenth \[fascicle\] of the \*Maulī Bhūmi\*, which speaks of the suffering of the womb in five limbs; because it is the cause of suffering, it speaks of 'craving'.
