> In the presence of the cognitive object, there are six causes, namely "due to the basis", etc. Fascicle 54 says: Question: As the Maulī Bhūmi speaks of six kinds of objective scopes, what is the distinction here? It explains the six causes here in order, so one should consult that text. "The basis" refers to what the internal body relies upon, which is the receptacle world, because it is the dwelling place of all sentient beings. "Manifest and unmanifest": that text says it refers to apprehending the difference between the real and the unreal; that is, within each one's own sphere, apprehending that which has real substantial existence is manifest and recognizably attained, while apprehending the unreal is called unmanifest. "Entirety and partiality": that text says it refers to apprehending a partial thing and a pervasive thing; that is, within an aggregation of objects, taking the whole pervasively as an object is called entirety, while taking a single part of a thing as an object is called partiality.
