> The treatise states: "exercising mastery in altering a portion of the derived matter of the four great elements in the Brahma world." "A portion of derived matter" refers to the two kinds, visible matter and sound; hence it is called "a portion." Because it does not alter touch, the five sense faculties, and so forth, but only external objects, it is called "a portion." Furthermore, according to what is transformed by absorption, it is only a portion of two aspects and cannot transform everything in the Brahma world; hence it is called "a portion."
