Because they posit that all sentient beings share the identical self, if one sentient being creates karma, the remaining sentient beings should also create karma, because this single self creates the karmas; experiencing retribution and attaining liberation follow the same rule. One should formulate the syllogism: "Taking others like Yajñadatta as an example, when Devadatta creates various karmas, they should also create karma; because the self is one; like Devadatta and others." However, since internal tathatā is neither a self nor possesses attachment, nor does it create or experience, it is free from the fallacy of an inconclusive counter-interrogation (anaikāntika). The two syllogisms for experiencing retribution and liberation are also like this; in total, there are three syllogisms here, specifically refuting non-Buddhists, as can be known by considering the meaning.
