- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [4.47](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1830.4.47)

> \[The Commentary states:\] This means that the physical world of the vessel is what is needed by the realms, the requisites of the realms; by association with that to which one goes, it is also called a realm. Alternatively, the word "requisites" explains the reason why karma and defilement are both named realms, since only internal factors are spoken of. In general, the transmigration of birth-and-death pervades all defiled factors; here in this verse, the word "realms" alone is used because that which goes, that to which one goes, and the requisites are all designated as realms, not only that to which one goes—just as joy and the factors conforming to joy are called the limb of enlightenment of joy, and so forth.
