成唯識論述記 5.177

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [5.177](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1830.5.177)

> The Commentary states: Grasping that eighth \[consciousness\] as 'the self's self': the former 'self' is the nominal entity of the five aggregates, the object taken by the sixth \[consciousness\]; the latter 'self' is what is conceived by the seventh \[consciousness\]. Or, the former 'self' is the prior moment and the latter 'self' is the subsequent moment, both being conceived solely by the seventh \[consciousness\]. Or, in a single moment it conceives this as being precisely this, conceived solely by the seventh \[consciousness\]. Or, the former is the substance and the latter self is the function; upon a single self-view, it is also conceptually spoken of using the two words 'self' and 'mine'. In reality, there is only a single self-view.
