- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [7.582](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1830.7.582)

> The Commentary states: The reason one admits the self-nature of consciousness is that it is the self-characteristic of consciousness; one admits caitasikas because they are dharmas associated with consciousness; one admits the darśanabhāga and nimittabhāga because they are transformations of the two substances, citta and caitasika; one admits the citta-viprayukta-saṃskāras because they are divisional states of the preceding three; one admits tathatā because it is the true nature of the preceding four. These five kinds of dharmas are not separate from consciousness, and are collectively called "consciousness"; it does not mean there are no caitasikas and so on. This is what is expressed by the word "consciousness"; below reveals what is excluded by the word "only."
