Toward the direct realization of the truths, they give rise to the decisive, superior wholesome desire for Dharma; among the six direct realizations, this is the direct realization of faith, not anāsrava faith. However, Mahāyāna practitioners, after having entered the kalpas, have certainty regarding the truths, unlike non-Buddhists who generate doubt regarding the truths; hence, up until before giving rise to the wholesome roots of the aids to penetration, in the stage of the aids to liberation, because it can remotely nurture the generation of the fundamental stage of the path of seeing. Fascicle 57 says: Question: What is the meaning of the faculty of not yet knowing? Answer: One who cultivates the direct realization of the truths, from the desire for wholesome dharmas onwards, in all paths of expedients, the meaning of the five faculties of faith and so forth is this meaning. Therefore, this faculty also extends to the stage of the aids to liberation.
