- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.70](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1831.1.70)

> Again, it is generally divided into three: namely, brief, broad, and intermediate. The first verse and a half is called brief; the subsequent twenty-three and a half verses are called broad; the final five verses are called intermediate. This is for the benefit of those confused about self and dharmas, for the benefit of those confused about consciousness, and for the benefit of those confused about practice and stages—benefiting these three types of faculties; or for those confused about the imagined, the dependent, and the consummate \[natures\], matching them respectively. Or, the first shatters attachment to existence, and the latter two shatter attachment to emptiness; therefore it is divided into three, which can neither be increased nor decreased.
