佛涅槃後。因彼大天部執競興多著有見。龍猛菩薩證極喜地。採集大乘無相空教造中論等。究暢真要除彼有見。聖提婆等諸大論師。造百論等弘闡大義。由是眾生復著空見。

> After the Buddha entered nirvāṇa, because of Mahādeva, sectarian schisms arose competitively, mostly clinging to views of existence. Bodhisattva Nāgārjuna realized the Pramuditā-bhūmi. He collected the Mahāyāna teachings on signlessness and emptiness and composed the Madhyamaka-śāstra and other texts, exhaustively expressing the true essentials to eliminate those views of existence. Great treatise masters such as the Ārya Āryadeva composed the Śata-śāstra and other works to broadly propagate the great meaning. Due to this, sentient beings again clung to the view of emptiness.
