> 'Being widely separated in time, there is no sense of condition' is addressed to the Sarvāstivāda. Because form in the state of consciousness is fruition, it is called 'formations condition consciousness.' First, the number of kalpas is widely separated in time; second, they are disjointed, and originally there is no fruition consciousness that could be designated as the consciousness branch—how could it be said that \[formations\] induce form in the state of consciousness? For the Sautrāntika master, the future world does not exist, and when they speak of 'inducing', the time is widely separated and separated for a long duration—how could it be called 'inducing'? Furthermore, if one says that inducing consciousness in the state of name-and-form is called a condition, then since it is separated from the consciousness branch, one ought to say that it serves as a condition for name-and-form, not that it serves as a condition for consciousness.
