> Answer: That text abbreviates the original nature and merely presents the designation. Hence that treatise says: "It should be known that based on the three types of naturelessness, three types of naturelessness are taught: first, the naturelessness of characteristics, which refers to the parikalpita-svabhāva, because this nature lacks substantial entity and characteristics." The meaning is: to speak of the naturelessness of characteristics is to speak of the parikalpita-svabhāva; because its substantial entity is non-existent, it is called the naturelessness of characteristics. The others should be understood accordingly.
