> According to the Yogācārabhūmi, fascicle 100 and elsewhere: \[those guilty of\] the five inexpiable acts (ānantarya-karma) and those who have severed their roots of wholesomeness are called the group of the wrongly determined; the phenomena of those in training (śaikṣa) and beyond training (aśaikṣa) are called the group of the rightly determined; those that are neither in training nor beyond training are called the group of the undetermined. The Mahāprajñāpāramitā-sūtra's explanation differs from this, as harmonized in the Fahua sheshi. Some say: the sixth of the ten faiths is called the group of the rightly determined; committing the five inexpiable acts is called the group of the wrongly determined. Those who have not yet reached the mind of the sixth of the ten faiths and do not commit the inexpiable acts are called the group of the undetermined. Furthermore, looking toward the Mahāyāna, the seventh of the ten faiths is called the group of the rightly determined; if one commits the Mahāyāna five inexpiable acts, one is called the group of the wrongly determined; the undetermined may be understood accordingly.
