> When all suffering ceases, an awareness of bliss arises; the bliss of counteraction is called the bliss of counteracting. There are four explanations of its essential nature: one says that peaceful ease (praśrabdhi) is its substance; the second says that things such as clothing and food serve as its nature because they can pacify suffering; the third says that feelings of joy and pleasure serve as its intrinsic nature, splitting the meaning with the previous feeling-bliss into two: if generated by sense organs and objects conforming to pleasant feeling, it is called feeling-bliss; if bodily and mental ease when suffering ceases, it is called the bliss of counteraction; the fourth says that when suffering ceases there is wisdom capable of becoming aware, and precisely this wisdom capable of awareness is its substance.
