> Analysis: "Su-" means good; "-gata" means gone. Arriving evilly is saṃsāra; going well is nirvāṇa. The saṃbhogakāya and nirmāṇakāya are truly the Sugata; the substance of the Dharma is tranquil and inherently has no coming or going. How could it be called the Sugata? Therefore the first explanation is good. Alternatively, when obscured by the two obstacles it is not yet called "good"; having emerged from obstacles, perfect and luminous, it is only then called good. To distinguish it from the past, the name Sugata is established; it does not mean there is somewhere to go for it to be called "gone." In principle, this is also without fault.
