答：可段飲噉有資益者名之為食，色可段噉，有濫簡之；聲體虛疎，意等無段；根是所資，無飲噉義，無濫不簡。

> Answer: What can be eaten in pieces, drunk, and eaten, and provides nourishment and benefit, is called nutriment. Visible form can be eaten in pieces, so there is potential confusion and it is excluded; sound is insubstantial and diffuse, and mind and so forth have no pieces; the faculties are that which is nourished and lack the meaning of being drunk and eaten, so with no potential confusion, they are not singled out.
