此難意云：定云無心及心行滅，無心即據五名無心，心行滅言亦應但約五識相應受、想等說。又云然有心所至滅言等故者，重成難意，以彼二家心行滅言皆據第六不依五識，故知滅識不約五言。

> The intent of this challenge is to say: The absorption is said to be 'without mind' and 'the cessation of citta-saṃskāra'. If 'without mind' is based on the five \[consciousnesses\] being called 'without mind', then the words 'cessation of citta-saṃskāra' should also be explained only in terms of the vedanā, saṃjñā, etc., associated with the five consciousnesses. Further, the statement 'Yet there are caitasikas \[...\] because of the word cessation, etc.' reinforces the intent of the challenge: because for those two schools the words 'cessation of citta-saṃskāra' are based on the sixth and not on the five consciousnesses, one knows that the cessation of consciousness is not stated in terms of the five.
