Form is neither that which can perfume nor that which can conceptualize, and the eighth \[consciousness\] furthermore lacks grasping. In this form-aspect there are also no seeds; thus the eighth \[consciousness\] should also not cognize this aspect, because they state that it cognizes the seeds of grasping. If it is said that although actual it can cognize form, and that it speaks of cognizing the grasping vāsanā merely with reference to seeds: if so, what prevents it from actually cognizing the seeds of the three natures, while speaking \[only\] in terms of defiled seeds?
