- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.93](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1837.1.93)

> This is the sixth \[section\], explaining the four aniyatas. As for 'aniyata' (indeterminate): these four dharmas are not determined to one single realm among the three realms—for example, the two factors vitarka and vicāra exist in the form realm, while the other two do not; nor do they determinately accompany \[specific minds\]—hence they are called indeterminate. As for 'middha and so on': briefly contracting the mind so that it operates without self-mastery, missing what was to be done, is called middha. Regarding wholesome and unwholesome deeds done or not yet done, harboring regret in mind is called kaukṛtya. Searching into dharmas without fine scrutiny, causing the mind to operate coarsely, is called vitarka. Repeatedly searching into the dharma that was sought, causing the mind to operate subtly, is called vicāra. This concludes the second \[major section\] above, clarifying the caitta-dharmas.
