大乘起信論義記 2.170

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [2.170](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1846.2.170)

> This function of innate enlightenment and the minds of sentient beings are fundamentally non-dual. However, when non-enlightenment follows the flow, the function does not appear; when the false mind feels revulsion and seeks \[enlightenment\], the function then manifests in their minds according to their capacities, without intentionally thinking 'I manifest distinctions.' Therefore, it says: 'naturally responding according to capacities.' Although it does not intentionally think, among its manifestations there is none that does not benefit; therefore, it says: 'manifesting in various ways so that they obtain benefit.' Up to this point, the explanation of the marks of innate enlightenment following defilement is finished.
