> Second, directly revealing non-emptiness. The virtues of non-emptiness, in reverse antithesis to delusional emptiness, are discussed briefly under four kinds. Therefore the Ratnagotravibhāga says: 'First, because of permanence, it is unborn, being free from the mind-made body. Second, because of endurance, it does not die, being free from inconceivable retrograde fall. Third, because of unchangingness, it does not age, being devoid of undefiled karma. Fourth, because of cooling freshness, it does not fall ill, being devoid of the latencies of defilement.' Here, 'pure phenomena' corresponds to 'cooling freshness' in that treatise, because it is free from defilements and taints. Furthermore, 'true mind' adduces the essence; 'permanent' is the virtue of permanence; 'enduring' is the virtue of bliss, because it is free from the suffering of parīṇāmikī; 'unchanging' is the virtue of self, because it is sovereign, not bound by karma; 'pure phenomena' is the virtue of purity.
