First, as when the lotus flower has not yet opened and their practice of faith is not yet complete, they have not individually achieved non-regression, but solely because that place lacks conditions for regression, they are designated "non-regressing". Second, from when the rank of faith has been fulfilled onward, the flower opens and they see the Buddha, entering the ranks of the ten abodes; they attain a partial vision of the dharmakāya and abide in the rank of correct determination. Third, when the ranks of the three worthies are fulfilled and they enter the first ground onward, they realize the pervasive dharmakāya and are born in boundless Buddha lands; as when the Buddha predicted that Bodhisattva Nāgārjuna and others, abiding in the first ground, would be born in the Pure Land, and so forth.
