> The two lines from "Without abandoning..." onwards explain that arising and ceasing do not obstruct tathatā. Because of non-obstruction, it causes \[the mind\], without abandoning distinct false conditions, to be precisely the one true nature. The distinctions of false conditions exhaustively encompass ordinary beings and sages; although ordinary beings and sages differ in appearance, their essence is one. Within the one essence, there are originally no ordinary beings or sages; hence it says "reaching unity" (致一). "Reaching" (致) means principle (理), or attaining (遂). Thus the text below states: "All ordinary beings, śrāvakas, pratyekabuddhas, bodhisattvas, and Buddhas are not born in the previous limit, nor do they cease in the subsequent limit, but are ultimately eternal," and so forth. Thus the Yuanjue jing states: "In the real mark, there are truly no bodhisattvas or sentient beings." It also states: "Sentient beings and lands share the same dharmatā."
