> Below, "For what reason..." takes up the objection. Below, "One meaning..." resolves it. Regarding "ten kings" and so forth: according to the Renwang jing, a bodhisattva of the ten faiths is an iron wheel-turning king, ruling one Jambudvīpa; a bodhisattva of the ten abodes is a copper wheel-turning king, ruling two continents; a bodhisattva of the ten practices is a silver wheel-turning king, ruling three continents; a bodhisattva of the ten dedications is a gold wheel-turning king, ruling four continents; a bodhisattva of the first bhūmi is a king of Jambudvīpa, ruling a hundred buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the second bhūmi is a Trāyastriṃśa king, ruling a thousand buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the third bhūmi is a Yāma king, ruling ten thousand buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the fourth bhūmi is a Tuṣita king, ruling a hundred million buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the fifth bhūmi is a Nirmāṇarati king, ruling ten billion buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the sixth bhūmi is a Paranirmitavaśavartin king, ruling a hundred billion buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the seventh bhūmi is a king of the first dhyāna, ruling a trillion buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the eighth bhūmi is a king of the second dhyāna, ruling a hundred trillion buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the ninth bhūmi is a king of the third dhyāna, ruling a hundred trillion asaṃkhyeya buddha lands; a bodhisattva of the tenth bhūmi is a king of the fourth dhyāna, ruling an ineffable-ineffable number of buddha lands; and a Tathāgata is the king of the dharmadhātu, ruling immeasurable buddha lands and expounding all Dharma gates. In that sūtra, excluding the Buddha, there are thirteen Dharma masters; adding faith makes fourteen, and with the Buddha, fifteen. Now, this commentary does not discuss the stages prior to the bhūmis or the fruit position, so it mentions only the ten kings. However, the passage below beginning "the tenth..." shows the mark of the bodhisattva in their final body demonstrating the attainment of Buddhahood in that heaven—that is, transforming the body of a bodhisattva of the tenth bhūmi into a Buddha body. If judged by genuine attainment of Buddhahood, it should only correspond to the earlier statement that "merits are completely fulfilled"; that is, it has no spatial location and cannot be seen. Now, in order to respond to bodhisattvas of the tenth bhūmi, the manifestation of attaining true enlightenment in that heaven is taught.
