> Regarding remedies, the commentary has two parts: first, correctly explaining the intent of the treatise. "All," etc.: What is manifested above is merely one instance of an objective realm; therefore, it was said before: "If one is separated from mental thoughts, there are no marks of any objective realm at all." It also says: "When the mind arises, all various dharmas arise; when the mind ceases, all various dharmas cease," and so forth. From "Because of this" onward: The principle of mind-only is not even understood by those of the provisional teachings; how could those māras and outsiders comprehend this truth? The Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa says: "A fly can alight upon all things, but it alone cannot alight upon hot iron; if it alights upon hot iron, the fly becomes fire. Māra can cognize all objective realms, but he alone cannot cognize the true mark; if Māra cognizes the true mark, Māra also becomes the true mark." "General dispelling" means that whatever is seen or heard is remedied solely by applying this method, just as heavenly amṛta cures all diseases. Therefore, the Yuanjue jing says: "Except for that which has been heard, no objective realms whatsoever are to be grasped." These are all general dispelling.
