> In the concluding exhortation, the treatise mentions 'the past'—namely, the like of Śākyamuni; 'the present'—namely, the like of Aśvaghoṣa; and 'the future'—namely, practitioners of the present day. In the Śūraṅgama-sūtra, Mañjuśrī praises Avalokiteśvara's perfect penetration, saying: 'All Tathāgatas of the past / have already accomplished this gateway; / all bodhisattvas of the present / now each enter perfect penetration; / people of future study and practice / should rely on such a Dharma. / I also realized it through this, / not only Avalokiteśvara.' Regarding 'no different path', the sūtra states: 'This is the single path to the gateway of nirvāṇa for Buddhas as numerous as fine dust motes.' And it also says: 'The Tathāgatas of the ten directions transcend along the single gateway of the wondrously adorned path.'
