起信論疏筆削記 6.50

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [6.50](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1848.6.50)

疏　不可相從者，從，順也。事理別故，其猶水火，敵體相違，豈能互攝？未容等者，若分二別，可言影互相攝。今唯一心，影攝何法？斯則二別亦無攝義，一心亦無攝義也。

> \[On the Commentary's\] "They cannot follow each other": "follow" (從) means to accord with. Because phenomena and principle are distinct, they are like water and fire, diametrically opposed to each other; how could they mutually subsume? \[On\] "Not allowing..." and so on: if they are divided into two distinct \[entities\], one could speak of them mutually overshadowing and subsuming. Now there is only the One Mind; what dharma could it overshadow and subsume? This means that if they are two distinct \[entities\], there is no meaning of subsumption, and if there is \[only\] the One Mind, there is also no meaning of subsumption.
