大乘義章 12.51

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [12.51](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1851.12.51)

> Next, mutual subsumption with the ten exhaustions. The doctrine of the ten exhaustions is as taught in the Daśabhūmika Sūtra: (1) exhaustion of the realm of sentient beings; (2) exhaustion of the realm of worlds; (3) exhaustion of the realm of space; (4) exhaustion of the realm of dharmas; (5) exhaustion of the realm of Buddhas appearing in the world; (6) exhaustion of the realm of nirvāṇa; (7) exhaustion of the realm of Tathāgata wisdom; (8) exhaustion of the realm of mental cognitive objects; (9) exhaustion of the realm of wisdom entering the Buddha's scope; (10) exhaustion of the realm of the revolving of the world, the revolving of dharmas, and the revolving of wisdom. Because these ten comprehensively subsume to the utmost extreme, they are called 'exhaustions'. Immeasurable sentient beings subsumes the exhaustion of sentient beings. Immeasurable worlds subsumes the exhaustion of worlds and the exhaustion of the space realm. Immeasurable dharma realm subsumes the exhaustion of the dharma realm. Immeasurable taming subsumes the exhaustion of the realm of mental cognitive objects. Skillful means of taming subsumes the exhaustion of Buddhas appearing in the world, the realm of nirvāṇa, the realm of Tathāgata wisdom, and the realm of wisdom entering the Buddha's scope. The five kinds of immeasurables together subsume the tenth, the exhaustion of the revolving of the world, the revolving of dharmas, and the revolving of wisdom, because it gathers them collectively (this concludes the fourth gate).
