- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [12.63](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1851.12.63)

> Next, the meaning of differences in accomplished practices is clarified. As spoken in the Sandhinirmocana and the Bodhisattvabhūmi, they say that each of the six pāramitās has three kinds. The three in giving are: 1. the giving of material wealth; 2. the giving of the Dharma; 3. the giving of fearlessness. The three in morality are: 1. the morality of restraint; 2. the morality of gathering wholesome dharmas; 3. the morality of gathering sentient beings. This meaning is fully and extensively distinguished in the section on the three categories \[of precepts\] above. The three in forbearance are: 1. forbearance toward harm done by others, enduring others' vexation; 2. forbearance in enduring suffering, being able to endure suffering oneself; 3. forbearance in discerning and understanding dharmas, abiding immovably in the Dharma. The three in vigor are: 1. the vigor of great vows, giving rise to great aspirations; 2. the vigor of gathering goodness, personally cultivating wholesome practices; 3. the vigor of gathering sentient beings, transforming others through goodness. The three in dhyāna are: 1. dwelling in bliss in the present life, with internal mind tranquil and pure; 2. generating merits, meaning generating spiritual powers, the four immeasurables, and so forth by relying on dhyāna; 3. benefiting sentient beings, meaning benefiting beings through the four means of embracing by relying on dhyāna. The three in wisdom are: 1. the wisdom of distinguishing ultimate truth through realization; 2. the conventional-truth wisdom of thoroughly mastering the five sciences and the three categories of dharmas; 3. the wisdom of benefiting sentient beings, skillfully benefiting sentient beings through the four means of embracing. (This concludes the second approach.)
