- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [20.22](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1851.20.22)

> Next, the fourth section distinguishes the six superknowledges in relation to the ten clarities. The ten clarities are as explained in the \*Avataṃsaka Sūtra\*. There, the six superknowledges are explained as the ten clarities, and thus one must distinguish the six superknowledges in relation to them. What are their characteristics? The superknowledge of others' minds is explained there as the single clarity of the knowledge of others' minds. The superknowledge of past lives is explained there as the single clarity of the knowledge of past lives. The remaining four superknowledges are each divided into two. The body superknowledge is divided into two: the first is named the clarity of the knowledge of supernatural power dwelling in fearlessness, by which transformations are mastered and one travels without hindrance throughout the realms of the ten directions; the second is named the clarity of the knowledge of manifold form bodies, being able to manifest various distinct bodies. The divine eye is divided into two: the first is the clarity of the knowledge of the divine eye, illuminating present physical forms clearly; the second is the clarity of the knowledge exhausting the kalpas of the future, thoroughly understanding dying here and being born there in the future. The divine ear is divided into two: the first is the clarity of the knowledge of the divine ear, being able to hear distant sounds; the second is the clarity of the knowledge of immeasurable manifold sounds, thoroughly understanding the distinctions in the speech and sounds of all sentient beings. The exhaustion of taints is divided into two: the first is the clarity of the knowledge of true reality, realising the true nature of phenomena and being able to exhaust all taints; the second is the clarity of the knowledge of the absorption of cessation, thoroughly knowing the phenomena of the cessation of the three vehicles. The distinction in relation to the ten clarities is as described above (this concludes the fourth section).
