> Explaining the names of the two truths: this meaning is extremely difficult. In explaining the names of the two truths, 'conventional' means insubstantial, and 'ultimate' means real; this has long been explained traditionally. Now, not yet knowing how the names of the two truths were obtained, how should we explain them? In explaining this question: our tradition explains that the two truths are of two kinds: first, the two truths as teaching; second, the two truths from perspective. The true and sincere words of the Tathāgata are called the two truths as teaching; the two kinds of subjective conception are called the two truths from perspective. This distinguishes the two truths from perspective and as teaching in terms of conception and cognition.
