- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [1.86](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1860.1.86)

> The first two sentences clarify that going against and going along both result in contradiction. Embodying non-duality is called 'the true'; grasping at two differences is called 'the conventional'. If one follows the Dharma and speaks of unity, it goes against ordinary sentiments and those fond of peculiarities—this is Dharma failing to accord with faculties. If one follows the conventional and speaks of difference, it again contradicts the Dharma of true unity—this is faculties failing to reach the Dharma. The following four sentences show that both going against and going along fail: the non-dual true is precisely the nature. Now since one follows the conventional and speaks of difference to ordinary sentiments, they are deluded about this true nature and cannot return to the treasure trove. If one speaks of the true, conventional sentiments cannot enter, and instead deem the words bland and tasteless. Laozi says: 'When the Dao is spoken from the mouth, how bland and without taste it is.'
