肇論新疏 3.19

- **Language:** Classical Chinese

### [3.19](https://indike.org/pramana/in.bauddha.taisho.1860.3.19)

> The first two lines praise the depth of his understanding. “Subtle words” refers to the sūtras and treatises. He grasps the beautiful import of the sūtras and treatises, and exhausts lofty discourse beyond mundane things. “Were one's realization not…” below praises the far-reaching nature of his virtue. The ruler is the venerated of the four seas and the master of the Three Jewels. Although the praise exceeds reality, the situation demands it. “Causing the Great Teaching…” below means that the Great Teaching of the Buddha-Dharma unrolls anew after having rolled up, and the obscure purport of the nameless is made manifest again after having sunk into oblivion; all of this is by the power of the king.
