> Fascicle seventy-two of the Yogācārabhūmi has ten arousals of the mind: namely, conventional reception arousal of the mind; attaining dharmatā arousal of the mind; indeterminate arousal of the mind; determinate arousal of the mind; impure arousal of the mind; pure arousal of the mind; weak arousal of the mind; vigorous arousal of the mind; arousal of the mind before the fruit is realized; and arousal of the mind after the fruit is realized. Not yet entering the certainty of right realization is called conventional arousal of the mind. Having entered the certainty of right realization is called attaining dharmatā arousal of the mind. Having departed from near and far is called indeterminate arousal of the mind. The opposite of this is called determinate arousal of the mind. Following others, or being oppressed, or being frightened, or being deceived, or for the sake of material gain—such arousals of the mind as these are called impure. The opposite of this is called pure. Being overcome and suppressed by the entanglements of greed, anger, and delusion, abandoning the true Dharma, and abiding in wrong practice is called weak arousal. The opposite of this is called vigorous. The stages from resolute faith up to the ten bhūmis are called before the fruit is realized; the Tathāgata stage is called after the fruit is realized.
