> Second, the benefit of arousing the mind means that when the stages of faith are fulfilled, one accords with that realm of the Buddha and arouses this great mind; this mind is itself subsumed by the Dharma of Samantabhadra, and therefore through fusion and interpenetration it is everywhere. Just as with the previously mentioned inexhaustible dharmadhātus of time, place, and so forth, once it enters and subsumes them, it also causes all stages to be fulfilled and perfected. Hence the sūtra says: "At the moment of first arousing the mind, one immediately realizes correct enlightenment, knows the true nature of all phenomena, is fully endowed with the wisdom-body, and does not awaken through another." It also says: "Because the bodhisattva who has first aroused the mind is indeed a Buddha, they are entirely equal to all Tathāgatas of the three periods of time." It is explained at length in the gāthās of the "Chapter on the Merit of Arousing the Mind."
