> The subtle words of the perfect teaching necessarily exhaust the dharmadhātu. Since they exhaust the Tathāgata's inexhaustible power of eloquence, each pervades empty space, hair-tips, and the ocean of lands, and each further exhausts the future bounds of time, expounded suddenly and expounded constantly, with boundless time and places. How could a teaching such as this be limited to volumes and cases? Now, according to the sūtra text, it is analyzed into ten categories: 1. The Differently Expounded Sūtra; 2. The Identically Expounded Sūtra; 3. The Universal Vision Sūtra; 4. The Superior Version of the Sūtra; 5. The Middling Version of the Sūtra; 6. The Inferior Version of the Sūtra; 7. The Abridged Version of the Sūtra; 8. The Host-and-Companion Sūtra; 9. The Retinue Sūtra; 10. The Consummate Sūtra.
