> Third, "clarifying the three natures": what is grasped by the deluded mind on the dust mote, contriving that existing characteristics arise and taking them to be real: now realizing that the round and small characteristics of the dust mote cannot be apprehended, the deluded characteristics naturally perish; this is the parikalpita nature being without characteristic-nature, which is the selflessness of persons. Furthermore, the dust mote serves as a condition for one's own mind, and mental phenomena only then arise. Now realizing that conditions have no self-essence and only appear in dependence on the mind, having no production of their own self-essence, is the paratantra \[nature\]; its unborn nature is the selflessness of dharmas. Because these two meanings are manifest before one, it is the pariniṣpanna ultimate nature.
